As a resident in Costa Rica's Central Pacific for more than 17of my 30 years of living here, I'd say: Jaco Beach-Playa Hermosa-Los Sueños Marina & Golf Resort, are the locations that make this the best area ---but only if you love the beach!
We're famous for offering some of the most memorable sunsets you'll ever see; and daily, discover the joys of walking on an uncrowded beach; surfing on world famous waves; hiking through tropical forests; but here's also why this area is so special: not only do we offer more options for fun or quiet moments for a beachtown, BUT we are the closest to San Jose: only one hour plus away from the SJO Int'l Airport OR to the classy suburb ESCAZU, where you'll enjoy the greatest variety of cultural--musical--culinary events-- and Costa Rica's best shopping.

By the way, doesn't it make sense to use a realtor who lives and breathes the area that he's promoting? As a resident of the Central Pacific since 2005, it still remains my favorite place during my 30 years in Costa Rica. I don't sell properties located 4 hours north in Guanacaste
nor do i sell properties in Dominical, Santa Teresa, nor Pavones: but I do know who does!
Mini Bio:
1. Moved permanently to Costa Rica from Santa Cruz, Calif. in November of 1993, after vacationing here in 1992. Was married to a Tica, and have been a legal resident since 1994.
2. Worked real estate in San Jose's best neighborhoods as Great Places Real Estate for over 7 years before moving in Jan, 2004 near Flamingo, Guanacaste.
3. Worked for Century 21 Tamarindo, received my CRGAR real estate certificate & affiliated with the Int'l Nat'l Association of Realtors, U.S.A. during "the boom" from September of 2004 till Dec. of 2005, (when I wisely moved to the Hermosa Beach Bungalows Dec. 2005 & still loving it.)
4. Opened up CR Beach Investment Real Estate in March, 2006 and had 2 really nice offices in Jaco centro, but 10 years later I opened up a home office in the Playa Hermosa beach bungalows and moved to N.Jaco in May 2022.
5. Have any questions? Ask me anything! After 25 years in Costa Rica real estate, if i don't know, i do know who does! I'll be happy to share my opinions about why one should be cautious about Concession Land/ Zona Maritima, and why i like the Central Pacific better than Guanacaste!

This has lead to his reputation as being a man "who is brutally honest" as to whether a property is a good investment, an area is good for your family, or yes!, it would be smart to hire a licensed "home inspector" before purchasing!
As he has stated, he could have lived anywhere in Costa Rica, but it is significant that he chose and has stayed for 16 years in the Jaco Beach-Playa Hermosa-Los Suenos areas of the Central Pacific."
