JULY 5TH: NEW BENEFITS LAW FOR INVESTORS, RENTERS, RETIREES SIGNED!!!
THIS NEW LAW WILL: 1. Attract foreigners with the 20% reduction for the transfer of new properties that they obtain during the validity of the law! 2. This means TAX-DUTIES WILL BE FREE for two, yes 2 CARS/VEHICLES as well as for air & sea vehicles, for personal or family use. 3. Also exempt, upon entering the country, new Investors will no longer have to pay customs duties or the Value Added Tax (VAT) for those who make investments of US$150,000 in real estate, assets, shares, securities, or productive projects or projects of national interest.
This remarkable new law establishes tax exemptions for the entry of foreign capital into the country, to contribute and promote the quick economic reactivation of the country in the post period of Covid-19. The plan establishes a series of exemptions in the payment of all import taxes for household goods and dependents. To access the benefits of the law, Investors won't have to pay income tax, but the income on the investments they make will be taxed.

1. Moved permanently to Costa Rica from Santa Cruz, Calif. in November of 1993, after vacationing here in 1992. Was married to a Tica, and have been a legal resident since 1994.
2. Worked real estate in San Jose's best neighborhoods as Great Places Real Estate for over 7 years before moving in Jan, 2004 near Flamingo, Guanacaste.
3. Worked for Century 21 Tamarindo, received my CRGAR real estate certificate & affiliated with the Int'l Nat'l Association of Realtors, U.S.A. during "the boom" from September of 2004 till Dec. of 2005, (when I wisely moved to the Hermosa Beach Bungalows Dec. 2005 & still loving it.)
