DECEMBER 2020 UPDATE:
Oranges: On our Nueva Italia I plantation we completed the planting of the orange saplings at a rate of between 2,500 to 3,200 per day (see photos below).
We employed an extra 65 people for this work, including 15 specialists who came over from the nursery in Brazil. They ensured the planting was done according to the required specifications. We are also keeping an extra 2,500 saplings in our own nursery to use as replacements for those saplings which initially don't take. EVEN though Nueva Italia has not been sold out yet, we decided to plant all earmarked orange lots. Hence new investors, or those considering increasing their existing stake, now have the opportunity to purchase some lots which have already been planted (which clearly reduces the time from funding until first harvest and returns).
Our multiple lot discount applies to these lots as well, making this an ideal opportunity for anyone wanting to invest in a tangible asset (farmland) that will start producing annual income from year 3 for generations to come.

THE GREENHOUSES:
A further 16 greenhouses have now arrived on our Nueva Italia plantation. They were shipped from Spain, where they are produced, to the port of Buenos Aires in Argentina. From there they made the journey to Paraguay by truck this time, as barges, the usual mode of transport, couldn't be used because of the low water levels on the waterways this time of the year.
Because greenhouse construction materials are not considered "critical" (unlike the production and transport of fresh food) some delays unfortunately occurred along the supply line as a result of Covid-19 related restrictions. However, construction has now started on the already prepared land, and we expect all 16 to be operational by early next year. We also plan on having the remaining 24 units in the first quarter of 2021.
Because of the popularity of our existing greenhouse operation, the first harvests of these new greenhouses have already been pre-reserved by local buyers. Our greenhouse tomatoes and peppers are fresher, more desirable and lower priced than any alternatives in Paraguay. THERE ARE STILL
